that sometimes you need to be your own hero
your own champion
that you have to fight your own battles
when you are alone and
the world seems to be against you
what if I told you
that you can be your own savior
that you can refuse to give in
that you can pick up the pieces
that happiness IS an obtainable goal
what if I told you
that it's okay that you feel like a victim
that it's okay that you're different
that your pain is real
that you deserve to be given solace
what if I told you
that even when you are alone
we stand together
because at one point or another
we all have to fight for what we feel

I was remembering some very painful stuff this morning, so thought I'd share something that came of it. I think...I think when I have the time I will share what it is that hurts me so bad. I think doing so will help me get some closure. For all of you out there who, like me, have been hurt for being different or abused or victimized, my heart goes out to you. Things DO get better.

I like this. This is powerful. From reading your description I get the obvious intent and personal meaning for why you wrote it but love that you left it open and generic enough for readers to relate to. A very good work!
